Orphans & Vulnerable Children
In a country of 12 million population, 1 million are orphans who need care. 25% of the overall population are children, 1 in 8 will die before they are 5.
We look after 37,500 children every year at our clinics, which is approximately 150 children every day, or 25% of our patients.
- Under 5’s clinics -we work in partnership with Family Health International and the government of Malawi hosting specific community clinics for children under 5 as they are an “at risk” group.
- Primary Health Care- dental, eye checks, blood pressure , hearing. All the tests we take for granted are now offered to our patients in Malawi along with “normal” medical services for illnesses, injuries and chronic diseases including their vaccinations.
