Maternity
The Maternity program consists of the following:
- Provide Antenatal services including antiretroviral therapy.
- Ensure the safe
delivery of each baby through the provision of trained health care workers (i.e. nurses) working in a well equipped maternity ward.
- Provide post maternity health services to the mother and/or child as may be necessary.
- Prevent Mother to Child transmission of HIV/AIDS by screening all pregnant mothers and providing nevirapine pre delivery to mom and for infant post delivery.
- Liaise with Traditional Birth Attendants to expand coverage of this population.
- Expand family planning by linking in with government program to get Norplant teaching, vasectomy, tubal ligation, IUD insertion, expanded female condom and condom use.
