HIV/AIDS
The HIV/AIDS program consists of the following:
- Testing in the laboratory facilities
- Counseling provided by our nursing staff and the Health Surveillance Assistants (HSA).
- Treatment of HIV/AIDS through the treatment of the secondary (inter-current) diseases that relate to HIV/AIDS (i.e. respiratory) as well as through the distribution of antiretroviral medication
- Prevention services will be comprised of:
a. Behavioural Change Interventions (BCI) strategies (programs)
b. Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) treatment services
c. Prevention of Mother to Child transmission of HIV/AIDS
d. Palliative home-care for people living with HIV/AIDS
e. Voluntary Testing and Counseling (VCT)
- Prescription and Administration of Anti-retroviral medication
